Engineer, entrepreneur, maker.
Jacques Démare, 57, engineer in Electrical Engineering with an AI specialisation (ESIGELEC, 1993), managing director of Squitel since 2005. Based near Fayence, in the Var.
I started my career in 1995 at Sun Microsystems as a UNIX Solaris support engineer for critical clients. Three years at Hewlett Packard (integration, pre-sales, supervision), then Nortel Networks (EMEA expert consultant) gave me a taste for international work and demanding environments.
In 2005 I founded Squitel, my consulting company. For 20 years, I have advised large accounts and innovators on technology-intensive projects: designing cybersecurity appliances for Exaion, developing IoT prototypes for EDF’s datacenters, leading change management on a SaaS archiving project for Atos.
I have also been an entrepreneur in another field: founder and manager of TOQUATA (event catering, 2009-2011). A precious parenthesis that taught me a great deal about distribution, field marketing and client relations.
Today, what drives me remains the same: understand a subject deeply, deliver a result that holds up, and work with people who commit. Adaptability, engineering rigour and product culture are my three tools.
What drives my work
- 01
Commitment & results
A mandate, deliverables, milestones. I commit to what I can deliver — and I deliver.
- 02
Autonomy & service
I integrate quickly, I work alone or in a team, and I care about the real client need — not formal outputs.
- 03
Standards & pragmatism
I look for the right solution, not the most elegant one on paper. The field decides.
- 04
Clear expression
I know how to write, present, convince. In French as in English. A project you cannot explain is a project you lose.
A project to scope, a team to mobilise, a transformation to lead?
Let’s talk, no strings attached. I step in for focused advisory, delegated project direction or targeted expertise.
